Emergency Medical Treatment

St Vincent's Emergency Department is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, including public holidays to provide comprehensive emergency assessment and treatment. It is staffed with Senior Emergency Physicians, experienced Doctors, and emergency Nurses to strive for a seamless experience.

On arrival you will be greeted by a receptionist who will collect your details. You will immediately be assessed and triaged by a Registered Nurse. You will be seen in order of priority, not an order of arrival. Patients deemed safe and not require immediate attention by a doctor may incur some waiting time when department occupancy is high.

The Emergency Department, St Vincent's Hospital, Toowoomba first opened in March 1999. It then consisted of 12 treatment areas, 2 resuscitation bays, dedicated procedure room. Toowoomba Private Emergency Group (TPEG) took over as Directors in 2005 and continue to run the Emergency Department.

Toowoomba welcomed the new and larger St Vincent's Emergency Department November 2020 after many years of planning and 15 months of building.
